Dear AMTA Members, We are sad to share the news of the passing of Andrew Repjar on June 20, 2025. Andrew Repjar, age 83, entered the "Land of Glory" on June 20, 2025. Alzheimer's claimed Andy's final years. He was born in Timmins, Ontario Canada on November 14, 1941 to Slovak parents, Andrew and Susan Repiar. He was the youngest of six siblings. The Repjar(name change) family came to Cleveland , Ohio area in 1956. Andy was Valedictorian of the class of 1959, Brunswick High School. He attended Ohio State University receiving a B.E.E, M.S, and PH.D degrees in 1964, 1966 and 1970 respectfully. While attending graduate classes he worked four years at the Electro Science Laboratory. Upon graduation, he worked at Rockwell International in Columbus, Ohio.
Andy and his family came to Boulder in 1975. He worked in Antenna Metrology at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for 26 years. He made important contributions to the practice of Antenna near-field and extrapolation measurements and was a recipient of the Department of Commerce Silver Medal. He served as Group Leader 1991–2001, when he retired from NIST. He was a member of the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA) and served on the AMTA Board of Directors in 1989–1992, including as AMTA President in 1991. |
Andy's Christian faith was very important to him. He looked forward to his transition to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Andy is survived by his wife Carol, sons John(Crystal), Jim, sister RoseMarie, grandson Tyler Hester, nephews, Andy, Eddie, Mark, Scott, Duane and Keith, nieces, Tina, Debra, and Susan.
Anyone who knew Andy will miss his outgoing personality and sense of humor. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Morning Star of Boulder (memory care) for their support and excellent care during Andy's brief stay.
Visitation will be 10AM to12 noon on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Crist Mortuary. Graveside services are private. Memorial services are being planned for later. |
