AMTA Fellow Nomination Form

AMTA Fellow is the highest level of membership in the AMTA organization and is named after Dr. Edmund S. Gillespie. The AMTA Edmund S. Gillespie Fellow membership level is awarded by the AMTA Board of Directors for significant contribution to the Theory & Practice of Antenna Measurement. Nominations can be made by members to the AMTA awards committee via the AMTA president or AMTA past president. These nominations will be evaluated by the AMTA Awards Committee and the AMTA Fellows Committee. Following approval by the AMTA Awards Committee, the nominations will be submitted to the AMTA Board of Directors for final approval. Nominations should have an extensive justification, including three letters of recommendation from AMTA Fellows.

Criteria

The Nominee must have contributed to AMTA in 2 of the following 3 areas:

  1. Significant technical contributions through publications in antenna measurements.
  • {Example – List number of publications in AMTA, IEEE, books, etc.}
  1. Excellence in education in the field of antenna measurements
  • {Example – List graduate students advised, short courses taught, papers written by students advised, etc.}
  1. Dedication through active service for AMTA.
  • {Example – List AMTA service on BoD, host committees, volunteer committees, etc.}
Describe the nominee’s contributions to AMTA, highlighting achievements in any two of the three areas listed above. *

AMTA Fellow Nomination – Recommendation Letter Instructions
Three nomination letters from current AMTA Fellows must be submitted for a candidate to be considered for AMTA Fellow.

Each letter should include the following:

  1. Name of Candidate
    Last (Family), First, Middle (Optional)

  2. Name of Nominator
    Last (Family), First, Middle (Optional)

  3. Relationship to the Candidate
    Describe your relationship to the candidate and explain how you are familiar with the significance of their contributions in two of the following three areas (maximum 250 words):

    • Significant technical contributions through publications in antenna measurements

    • Excellence in education in the field of antenna measurements

    • Dedication through active service for AMTA

  • Candidate’s Impact
    Clearly explain why the candidate’s achievements are extraordinary and how they have significantly influenced the field of antenna measurements and/or AMTA (maximum 500 words).

  • Nominator’s Credentials
    Provide a brief summary of your credentials and your professional or academic affiliations (maximum 200 words).
